History of WESA
Recounting the history of WESA requires us to go back to pre-WESA days in the 1990s. During this time players would hang out together in the Rocky Bay gym on Wednesdays – having lunch, playing sport and socialising. These players, plus a few others, would also play on Saturdays and Sundays in a league they had created. Most of these players had some association with Rocky Bay.
It was later suggested to these players, in the early 2000s, to remove themselves from the umbrella of Rocky Bay and to form a sporting club. This was done under the guidance and support of the Rocky Boy Sports Coordinator. And thus WESA was born!
Player who were involved in the early WESA days: James Baker, Mark Baker, Jeremy Bartlett Lenard, Michael Bartlett Lenard, Paul Chapman, Rachel Delaporte, Stephen Delaporte, Corey Faber, John Hanson, Adam Hart, Amy Maslij, Chris Mason, Brian Matthews, Joel Slinger, Hayden Stevens, Mark Tilbrook, Victoria Wardlaw, Scott Wright and Brad Robbins.
