WESA is a State Sports Association based in Perth, Western Australia. WESA was founded in 2000 to incorporate a Western Australian league of powerchair sports for people who require an electric wheelchair for mobility.
The WESA Power League season consists of rounds of Powerchair Football, Powerchair Hockey, and Power Rugby, culminating in a Grand Final for each sport. Each season, six players are selected from WESA Power League teams to represent Western Australia in an inter-state competition - National Electric Wheelchair Sports (NEWS) - which is traditionally held in Sydney.
WESA provides opportunities for electric wheelchair users to participate in individual and team sport events at Local, Regional, State, National and International levels.
